I am very aprettiated by your efforts in bringing a free game awesome like this to the fans, i reall am, but comon, you guys shouldnt go on makin promisses about voices that are dated a year ago, its been to long and i dont think it would not cost a thing if you guys at least tell us how things are going.

I dont mind starting a donation or something, you guys diserve it, you really do, but at least dont let us be here suffering..

Thank you

Hmm I think just they all are very busy in their lives after spending so long making a free game for you all

i also know first hand what it is like dealing with audio engineers.. we take a long time to do very little!! I take up to 6 months usually to make each tune ahaha

Cheers.

Yesterday I got bored and checked out these forums after I've been checking the main page frequently for ages, to see if the patch has been finally released (I still haven't played the game yet and I won't til the patch has been released...I don't want to get my game experience ruined by bugs) and I found this thread.
So, uhm...half a year ago you wrote the patch is finished, but where in hell is it and why is there no news article about it? I don't get it.

Tooms wrote:After a longer period than expected, we are happy to release the official patch for Broken Sword 2.5. We fixed several situations where the game freezed or the inventory didn't worked as expected.

Please download the patch only from our website. Don't install language packs from other websites, because they are not authorised by mindFactory and can contain viruses. We are not responsible for any computer damages related to our game. To install the patch just unpack the ZIP file into the same folder as your game installation of Broken Sword 2.5.

Seriously, wtf? Was that some kind of bad joke or am just blind and incapable of finding the download...

Edit: Awesome...I just noticed the "download the patch" is a link to the dl..
Why didn't you underline or mark it...or is it my browser settings, which I doubt.
Anyway, I'm still pissed there was no news article since I'm not a big fan of reading forums and because I thought you'd definitively post it on the main page if the patch is finished.

I have just installed the patch on my computer which is Vista. Now when I play the game it keeps saying Are you sure you want to run this program it's files have been edited. when I click on don't show me this message again, it does anyway. It is really annoying. I have tried going into Properties and then clicking on unblock this program and give me administrator access to the game (run as administrator) but the message still won't go. Please help me. Maybe you can make a Setup EXE file to install the patch so that it will work on Vista. Thanks.

its a pity its taking so long, soon i might just play with german voices!

It is especially sad that I cannot help, because some other thread or someone else said, well, if you want it quicker, are you an audio engineer? hehehe, well I actually am an engineer/producer/composer etc, although not having works on games before.

But yes I have this experience. But sadly am too busy working on own music etc to offer help..

But if you just need to edit the audio and normalise, encode etc, I could do this very quickly.

Hanging to play this game!

Voices will just be language packs with the sound data included. You won't have to download the whole game again.

That is correct :)

Brokensword_20, you have to unpack the files somewhere, then you will get a folder, copy the contents of this folder into the Broken Sword 2.5 game folder, then it will work. [smilie=thumbup.gif]

It shouldn't be to long right? You have all the voice work recorded. By the way, I don't think the patch is installed. I unpacked the files into the Broken Sword 2.5 folder but it doesn't seem to have installed. Am I missing something?

Hello,

we were a little bit stuck (well, for a while really) with the English voices. But we are coming back to them now. :)

Don't mean to be a nag here but I've waited for Broken Sword 2.5 for awhile now. And I refuse to play the game until the english version is avalible. Any news on the release?

I know you guys are doing your best and going as fast as you can.

Hello.

First, let me thank you for excellent game. I played BS 1, 2 and 3 where the 3rd one was not typical 2D BS but it was not bad.
This BS 2.5 is just perfect for its classic 2D system.

Is it possible to finish playing the game without the patch? I mean, I'd rather use my old saves and finish the game if there is a way to avoid the freezes.
Or will I stuck at some point without any option to pass further with the original (not patched) game? If the game cannot be finished without the patch then I'd rather install the patch and start from the beginning.

Let me comment the problems which may affect my system.

* Fixed freezing bug in Nico's Apartment when combining the parts of the note while one of them is not in the inventory

I think I am already behind this part.

* Fixed freezing bug in Portugal when combining key ring & thread with the broomstick while the broomstick is not in the inventory

I have not passed this part yet. It seems it would be enough to have all required parts in inventory and the game should not freeze.

* Fixed bug in the inventory where two items occupy the same slot

This looks like something that I cannot affect. Is there any way to avoid this?

This patch just adds new subtitles and fixes certain crashes.
