Pufff, you've got a plenty of them.

The Black Mirror, Ni.Bi.Ru and Reprobates from the Czech developers Future Games, The Moment of Silence, Gabriel Knight series, all the Sherlock Holmes series of EGA and Frogwares (about 6 or 7), Secret Files: Tunguska, the scary Scratches, Agatha Christie games (if you like detective Hercules Poirot), Grim Fandando, Full Throttle, Sanitarium... and so on.

Here you've got an ordered list of great adventure games with marks given by players (out of 100):
http://la-aventura.net/colabora/megalista/ (The page it's in spanish, but doesn't matter. Easy to understand).

I like it very much. Hope to see BS2.5 in the future.

I'm really waiting for "A Vapmyre Story" right now. Most of the creators are ex-lucasarts workers and a number of them had worked on monkey island ;)

Thanks for the replys guys,

i will be trying out the games you suggested for sure. but i was wondering if you know any that has that uhm.. cartoon-look ? like broken sword 1 & 2 hand painted backgrounds kind of thing. these seem really hard to find yet for me are the best one's. i really cant wait for broken sword 2.5 :-) but then after this... maybe they wont be any news games out with this theme ever again... which is a damn shame...

Black Mirror
Gabriel Knight I
The Longest Journey

all are mysterious like BS and among my all time favorites. Also,

Moment Of Silence (which is more Science Fictionesque but also a nice adventure)
Still Life (except for the ending, otherwise it would be very much at the top. If they do make a sequel I am willing to revise.)

They are not identical or so, but all (especially the first 3) are must plays.
